SIDEWALK

       CAFÉ

Café corner, morning paper,
Cover headlines, poetic caper.

Sunshine dawns, éclair filled dream,
Steaming cup, coffee and cream.

Paris places, names and faces,
Cupid's arrow, swiftly races.

Across avenues, 'City of Love,'
Performing artists, a cooing dove.

Mime standing, painted smile,
Reading lips, dance a while.

Hold hands, embrace hearts,
Exchange glances, then departs.

Painted chalk, upon the walk,
Beautiful portrait, made to talk.

Whispering secrets, wetting lips,
Sipping drinks, and open wits.

Flowing hair, upon her back,
Lovely locks, all in black.

Listening ears, soothing laugh,
Intuitive eyes, assume naught.

Notre Dame, Eiffel and Louvre,
Divine ebony, regal and smooth.

Heavenly angel, nirvana tumbler,
Inviting arms, summer hunger.

Amid night's, tender invite,
Moonshine yields, Seine's twilight.

Intimate ecstasy, erogenous entity,
Romantic evening, endearing destiny.

Loaded lines, of French phrases,
Beneath shooting stars, and lunar phases.

Cherished moment, long remembered,
Hold the thought, soon we'll share another.
